There's a certain degree of nostalgia associated with booths from old diners and tables from old soda shops. They just give the aura of 'good old days.' If you dare to be different, you can bring those good old days back and incorporate them into your home d?cor by using restaurant furniture in your home.

But the fun way to find used restaurant furniture starts with scouring the classifieds of your local newspapers. Some actually carry a category called "Restaurant Equipment" or "Used Restaurant Equipment." If not, search general merchandise and furniture for sale columns. Then, start looking for auctions. Your area newspapers will probably have a particular day of the week on which they run auction ads. Ask to find out when your paper runs its most of its auction ads. Look for restaurants going out of business, then read the list of items to be auctioned in the ad. If you see a piece of furniture that sounds promising, go check it out. If it is what you are looking for - or can easily become the perfect piece of furniture with minor modifications - start bidding. The auction process is fun and don't be surprised if you get caught up in it. It's always good to go into an auction with a budget of how much you will allow yourself to spend. Check out the items closely first before placing a big. Otherwise, you might pay too much for a furniture item that looked good from a distance but upon closer inspection you find cracks and other damage.

If you decide to go with a restaurant look with your furniture, you have many decorating options available to you. You could concentrate on a theme room with d?cor focusing on the theme, like breakfast, Coca-Cola or other brand names. Decorations ideas to accentuate your restaurant furniture might include old magazine ads for the theme product, old menus from restaurants, or labels from your favorite cans and boxes of food. You might even create a wall border using labels from canned foods!

Whether you incorporate one piece of restaurant furniture into your home or create your entire kitchen and dining area around a room full of it, you and your guests will always enjoy the novelty. After all, who doesn't like going out to eat?

Customer Review: Hope you're not in a hurry and don't mind a lot of leg work!

Amazon's price is great and their delivery very timely. Once this mount is up and installed, it is fabulous -- well engineered, excellent manufacturing, very "tweakable" for leveling and ease of movement -- a solid mount for my new Pio 5010. So why not 5 Stars?

Amazon ships the product (which is quite heavy) in the product's original packaging (no outer box). When mine arrived, the carton had been heavily taped with clear packaging tape. Upon opening the box -- no documentation/manual of any kind. Went to Sanus website and fortunately the product documentation was available for download -- downloaded and printed the manual. First section of the manual is a parts listing, which given the state of the carton, I cross-checked against the major components. To my disappointment (but not surprise) 2 MAJOR parts were not present. The manual pleads you to contact Sanus for parts, instead of returning the product to the dealer, so the next morning I dutifully called CS at Sanus to see about getting the missing parts. Parts were to be sent out that day -- expedited. Unfortunately, the parts were sent out "ground" and took 6 days to arrive.

When speaking to CS rep at Sanus, I was advised that the 2 bags of small parts (bolts, washers, etc) were all that were shipped with the major components. As I had received both bags intact and factory sealed I believed once the major components arrived I would be all set. WRONG!

As a previous reviewer has noted the retaining bolts for the restrictor/preventor plate were no where to be found in the 2 small parts bags. Again, contacted Sanus and was told the bolts were out-of-stock. Sanus has evidently made a "business decision" to knowingly send out this product without these parts. While the exact parts were not locally available (6mm cylinder head Allen bolts), I was able to find a hex-head bolt at Lowes that works OK.

Summary: While the supply chain failed to perform to expectations, I am VERY pleased with the mount itself. Amazon, the weight of this mount exceeds the carton's capacity to be used as a "shipper" (consider using an outer shipping box). Sanus, shame on you for KNOWINGLY selling a product without all its parts -- the marketplace will punish you for your error in judgement.

Our toddler's play for what seems like plenty of time for me to get a meal ready or do something which requires me to leave them at their table.

They play with plastic food, color, play with Playdo, etc. They sometimes eat there, too.

I was able to assemble it in under an hour with the two toddlers swarming around me. That's impressive in itself.

This thing is huge! I bought it hoping to reduce the footprint of my dual LCD set up, but it really didn't do much since the foot of the stand is very wide.

Having said that, it is a very nice stand though. Nicely constructed.

Customer Review: Well built, but a little shaky

I did a lot of research into dual monitor stands, and this one was by far most inexpensive. It's a pretty good stand: built solidly, well designed, and easy to put together. The screws and mounting brackets are strong and made of good metal. I mounted two 21.6 inch monitors on it and it holds the weight just fine. Overall, it is worth the money.

The stand does what it is supposed to do, but I have a few nitpicking points to make.

First, the whole setup is a little shaky. If you bang your desk or close a drawer hard the monitors will sway a bit.

Second, the center of gravity is over the base of the upright post, not over the wide base in the front. This means that if you push the edge of one the monitors the whole thing rotates at that point. I'm confident that it won't fall over, but I'd be a little nervous about it if my desk were not against a wall.

Third, although the specs say you can mount two 22" monitors, you can't actually rotate monitors that big. To rotate the monitors you pull them apart slightly first, but for my 21.6" monitors I have to pull them so far that they come off the back crosspiece a little. If you're not careful you could pull one monitor off completely (and then the other one will tip sideways because it no longer has a counterweight). Two 20" monitors might not have this problem, but I can't say for sure. They really should have mentioned this in the specs.

Fourth, You can limit the rotation of the monitors to a 90 degree arc. Logically, this should allow you to rotate the monitor from landscape position to portrait position and back. In reality, starting from an upright position you can rotate it 45 degrees one way or 45 degrees the other way, so you can't change from landscape to portrait and back. The little screw hole that limits the movement is just drilled in the wrong place. It's a silly little design flaw in an otherwise good piece of equipment. (By the way, even though the 90 degree limitation doesn't work, you can still opt for zero rotation or 360 degree rotation. Both work fine.)

Overall, a good piece of equipment, but not perfect.
